Loading... The Mickelsen Family - Honolulu - 1936
According to Carolyn Wilkinson, "We were on our way to the Philippines --- the Eisenhower family was on board our ship --- and had a stopover in Hawaii for a day. We went to the top of the Pali and I even remember a trip on a glass bottom boat in Kaneohe Bay! We were sent home to the States in 1938 because of rumblings of war with Japan. My father, then a major in the Signal Corps, was sent to Chicago to work with Automatic Electric to buy equipment for the Army."
