In regards to your request on Ocie Crumpler, I live and work near Columbus Ga. and my mother told me years ago that one of my Daddy's uncles or maybe even great uncles(Ocie Crumpler) had moved to Columbus. A couple of years later I was play in a golf tournament and met Ken Crumpler, the son of Ocie. He is still in Columbus and I run into him occasionally. I live at Lake Harding Alabama, just north of Columbus on the Alabama side of the Chattahooche river. So we are distant cousins since Ocie would be either my great uncle or great, great uncle.

Who was Ocie's brothers and sisters, and his mother and father? Who was Ocie's wife?

It has taken twenty-five years, but here is an answer, for John, for Red (Peggy) Jessup, and for anyone else in Ocie's family.

Ocie Kenneth Crumpler was born on 17 February 1913 in Sampson County, North Carolina, and died on 29 July 1988 in Muscogee County, Georgia. He is buried in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus. His parents were William Lonnie Crumpler and Eloise Strickland, and his wife was Agnes Mingledorff.

You can see him, his parents and his brothers and sisters in our family tree here:

His Find a Grave memorial is here:
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/184798813

John remembered Ocie dying in 1987; his grave record gives 1988.

So far we have only one of Ocie's children in the tree, Mary Agnes. If you are one of Ocie's family, we would love to hear from you, and to add Ken, Jack and the others with your permission.

Craig Walsh
