In military medical history, Robert Bushby's "trade or occupation" is described as Bridge Inspector. This was also shown on his Application to Enlist in the Australian Imperial Force (same date). In a subsequent medical report dated 28 Aug 1917: "No disability, never remembers being ill, never has colds and is confident he could carry out all work. A little shortwinded on heavy exertion. Claims to be skilled at mining, all railway works, bridge building, etc. Has always been teetotal and does not smoke." On this examination his former trade is shown as "overseer of railway works." |
