| Notes |
- Christopher Bushby, ropemaker of Hexham: born at Great Strickland, Westmorland, about 1773 (baptised at Morland, 6 Jul, according to the Bushby family chart, media 928). He married Elizabeth Harrison at St Andrew's, Penrith, on 1 Jun 1797 and by 1804 was a ropemaker in Hexham, at Bow Bridge Street and later Priestpopple, employing four journeymen in 1851. He died in August 1853 aged 80 (the chart says 3 Aug; the burial was on 31 Aug).
HIS PARENTS have not been identified. INFERENCE, to be tested: the chart hangs him and his sisters Ann, Betty, Agnes and Hannah (baptised at Morland, Hannah in 1783) from a Morland marriage; the likeliest candidates are John Bushby, yeoman (baptised 4 Dec 1740, son of John and Mary Brown) and Ann Robinson. Morland registers are not online free; FamilySearch or the Bishop's Transcripts at Kendal would settle it.
